For the month of March, we are praying for India and Sri Lanka.

Today, we focus our prayers for the leaders serving in these regions. They serve 75 groups of churches and 192 active training programs. Last year, 1,057 trained disciple-makers planted 546 new churches, with 3,446 new worshippers and disciples of Jesus. We praise God for this amazing fruit produced in very hard soil. And we continue to lift up those He`s using to bring his Gospel to the least-reached.

We currently have 3,475 training programs, 1,997 in Africa, 1,258 in Asia, and 220 in Latin America. Our model has proven flexible and adaptable in areas where visible Gospel activity is restricted or opposed.

"We have a vision to plant 10 thousand churches in our region. But I had a problem. A problem with how to strengthen the church leaders. But with the help from Global Disciples, we were able to offer leadership training. We have used this and it has helped us so much. I don’t have any words to express my thanks for the way these trainings have helped us.”

Your contributions support and equip workers like Kendi*.

In a war-torn region of West Africa, Kendi trained 15 disciple-makers to share their faith in a large refugee camp. These disciple-makers combined compassionate evangelism with meeting the physical needs of refugees, bringing hope to those in desperate situations. In just two months and despite opposition in this challenging environment, 66 Muslims came to faith in Jesus. 64 were baptized and two churches were planted within the camp!

Kendi’s efforts highlight the vital role that near-culture Christians have in sharing the love of Christ where it’s most needed. As you pray for and support workers like him and his training program, you share in his work as a partner, bringing the hope of Jesus to West Africa and many hard places in our world.

If you want near-culture workers, you need local churches. We are grateful for the generations of cross-cultural workers and the traditional mission-sending strategies. Thanks to their dedication and sacrificial lives, the global Body of Christ is mature and thriving in many places. Now it’s time for the next step: tapping into these local churches to train and send out their people as a new generation of mission workers.

Join us as we focus our prayers on the least-reached in North and Central (NC) India and Sri Lanka for the month of March.

In North Central India alone, over 750 million unreached people and more than 1,000 people groups are considered least-reached. So few of these know the love of Christ–a mere 0.2% follow the Christian faith. Sri Lanka, the island nation off the coast of Southern India, has had more exposure to Christianity, but still nearly half of its people groups are considered least-reached. What a massive mission opportunity!
