Spread the Gospel and Transform Lives and Communities Through Discipleship

At the heart of Christianity lies the gospel, the powerful message of God’s love for humanity.

Jesus’ command, known as the Great Commission, is the driving force behind Global Disciples Canada.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20

Consequently, we want to reach least-reached communities with the power of the gospel.

In fact, one of the most critical elements in sharing the gospel is discipleship. Primarily, discipleship is not just about connecting with those who have not yet met Christ.

Discipleship is also about showing a Christ-centred life.

Crucially, this kind of life is born out of relationship. Indeed, Jesus Himself set the pattern by inviting twelve ordinary men to follow Him. Like us, they were sent out by Him to change the world (Mark 3:13-15). This model emphasizes the importance of direct, personal connections in spiritual growth. As we walk alongside other believers, we can learn together what it means to be a disciple.

Consequently, the power of discipleship lies in its ability to generate multiplication. Jesus instructed His first disciples to make other disciples, and through their obedience, the early Church grew massively (Acts 2:42-47).

Its important to recognize that billions of people have not yet had the opportunity to hear the Gospel message. This represents a significant challenge and an incredible opportunity for the Church.

The importance of reaching the least reached with the love and grace of Jesus cannot be overstated.

Prayer is often an undervalued aspect of spreading the Gospel.

Through prayer, we seek God’s guidance, wisdom, and power to impact the lives of the least-reached communities with the Good News of Jesus. The Apostle Paul understood the importance of prayer in his ministry. He asked the Thessalonian church to “pray for us, that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured” (2 Thessalonians 3:1).

In fact, they are responsible for fostering discipleship, establishing new congregations, and nurturing the growth of Christian communities.
